What is the Alzheimer’s test?


Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia, accounting for approximately 60% to 80% of all cases. In addition, the number of people living with dementia worldwide is estimated to triple by 2050, highlighting the importance of having tools that support an early and accurate assessment of cognitive health.

The pTau 217 Blood Test for Alzheimer’s is a diagnostic test that analyzes the presence of the pTau217 biomarker in a plasma sample. This biomarker is associated with the amyloid pathology characteristic of Alzheimer’s disease and forms part of the clinical evaluation process to support diagnosis.

What does the report include?


  • Positive result: suggests a high probability of amyloid pathology.

  • Negative result: suggests a low probability of amyloid pathology.

  • Intermediate result: may require additional testing to complete the clinical assessment.

Who is it for?


  • Individuals 55 years of age or older.

  • Patients with memory complaints, cognitive difficulties, or clinical suspicion of cognitive impairment.

  • Individuals for whom a specialist considers it necessary to evaluate the probability of amyloid pathology associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
